Elite Transport invited by SCT to present a series of talks
We are delighted to announce that Elite Transport were recently invited by Southampton Container Terminals (SCT) to present a series of talks to a cross section of their staff and workforce. The subject matter being "a hauliers perspective of market conditions and problems encountered within the UK container trucking industry".
SCT have been taking members of the work force off site for a series of presentations in an effort to get a better understanding of what happens with a container after it has left the Port, plus an insight in to the the whole supply chain process. Some of the worlds largest Shipping Lines have also attended these presentations giving a view from a Lines perspective.
The haulier presentations started in January of this year and were delivered by Lee Redfern Operations Director, and Brian Walker Commercial Director of Elite Transport . Brian Walker commented that it was an excellent opportunity for Elite to give an insight in to the day to day operations to the attendees of SCT, he also claimed that SCT are to be congratulated in involving all of their staff in the supply chain process which will ultimately promote ownership and a greater degree of knowledge and understanding of the whole process.
