Elite Transport ANNOUNCEMENT : Elite Southampton staff to take part in sponsored walk for JDRF

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or JDRF, helps children and their families with Type 1 Diabetes. 25,000 children in the UK have Type 1 Diabetes for which there is currently no cure. The JDRF is the worlds leading charitable funder of Type 1 Diabetes research.

Elite Transport Southampton is taking part in the Walk to cure Diabetes. This is a five mile walk on 25th of September at Manor Farm Country Park. If you would like to sponsor us please visit our just giving page at www.justgiving.com/elitetransport

Elite TransportANNOUNCEMENT : Elite Transport is delighted to announce the strategic acquisition of the container haulage business interests of Matthews International Transport Ltd

The acquisition includes 50 trucks and trailers and expands Elites’ strategically placed network to 8 depots across the UK and further strengthens the company’s presence in Felixtowe.

Andy Frost, MD at Elite stated “this strategic acquisition is a clear demonstration of the Board’s stated ambition to expand the business to become one of the top three container hauliers in the UK. It builds on our existing depot infrastructure, strengthens our presence in Felixtowe and expands our customer base to include short sea operators. Elite Transport Services Ltd are very proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for the IFW Awards 2009 Judged Entry categories, in the category ‘Road Freight Award’. The other finalists in the category are DSV Road, Gefco, Knights of Old, Rutges Cargo, The Pallet Network (Ireland).

The judges were very impressed with the high quality and quantity of entries received and took a long time to decide the winners.

The shortlist has now been published on the IFW website. The winners will be announced in an awards ceremony on Thursday 15 October at the Chelsea Football Club, London.
